“There are many challenges Special Operations soldiers face, both in the line of duty and in life after combat. Transitioning is a difficult process that, if done alone, can be devastating. We want to fight for those who have fought for us. ”
The Charlie Mike Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support to active duty and medically-retired Army Special Forces Green Berets and their families, as well as to the families of Green Berets who have lost their lives in service to our Nation. The Foundation aims to uphold needs unmet by the government, with an emphasis on building personal and family resiliency, and supporting the full reintegration of veteran personnel into society following wounds, injuries, and extended deployments.
Special Forces soldiers implement unconventional operations by air, land, or sea during combat or peacetime as members of elite teams. These activities include offensive raids, demolitions, reconnaissance, search and rescue, and counterterrorism. In addition to their combat training, Special Forces members often have specialized training in swimming, diving, parachuting, survival, emergency medicine, and foreign languages. Duties include conducting advanced reconnaissance operations and collecting intelligence information; recruiting, training, and equipping friendly forces; conducting raids and invasions on enemy territories; laying and detonating explosives for demolition targets; locating, identifying, defusing, and disposing of ordnance; operating and maintaining sophisticated communications equipment.
There are many challenges Special Operations soldiers face, both in the line of duty and in life after combat. Transitioning is a difficult process that, if done alone, can be devastating. We want to fight for those who have fought for us. These soldiers have been the tip of our nation’s spear; all have sacrificed some and some have sacrificed all. Green Berets always have a battle buddy in active duty, and we are here to make sure they have a battle buddy when they get out.
